If I’m being harassed should I quit my job?
If you’re being harassed at work, your first response should not be to quit your job. Your first response should be to tell the harasser to stop harassing you, and if that doesn’t work to report the harassment to a supervisor, or to whomever your employee manual says you should report harassment to.
We get lots of calls from people who have already quit their job because of harassment or some unfair conduct and the problem is, once you’ve voluntarily quit your job, it’s much more difficult to get justice than is if you’re still employed and you get some advice about what you should do, and you don’t voluntarily quit your job.
Report the conduct to a supervisor and also consult with an employment lawyer who can help to advise you as to what you should do to stop the harassment.
